A Little Watercolor Tea Party โ๏ธ๐ฐ
A cozy weekend of cottagecore watercolor illustrations
Spend a slow, cozy weekend painting the sweetest little watercolor elements inspired by a cottagecore tea party.
In this workshop, we'll create a collection of tiny illustrations that feel like they belong on a dreamy afternoon tea table, soft, whimsical, and full of charm. Think cakes, berries, jam jars, candles, and delicate floral baskets.
This class is designed to be completely beginner friendly, so you don't need prior watercolor experience. We'll focus on loose, playful techniques rather than perfection, so you can relax and enjoy the process.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a whole page of charming mini illustrations that can be used for journaling, postcards, or simply as a lovely little artwork collection.
What We'll Paint
Over the weekend, we'll build a whole little collection of tea party illustrations, sweet, small, and full of charm. Each element will be demonstrated with 2 to 3 variations, so by the end you'll have an entire page of whimsical things you painted yourself.
Cakes
Little layer cakes, petit fours, slices with soft dripping frosting. The kind you'd find on a very dreamy afternoon tea table.
Cherries & Strawberries
Bright, juicy berries that are more fun to paint than you'd expect. We'll play with simple shading and letting watercolor do its own beautiful thing.
Candles
Tall and drippy, short and stubby, candle holders with that warm golden glow that makes everything feel a little more magical.
Little Stamps
Vintage-style stamps with inky, postmarked edges. The kind that feel like they belong on a letter sent to someone lovely.
Loose Floral Baskets
Overflowing with loosely painted blooms and greenery. No fussing over petals, just free, flowing florals.
Jam Jars
Sweet little jars with cloth-tied lids and soft glass highlights. Strawberry, rose, whatever feels right.
Wine Glasses
Light, transparent, catching the afternoon light. A little trickier but so satisfying once it comes together.
Postcards
Our finishing piece, where we bring our favourite elements together onto one little A6 card to keep, gift, or actually send to someone who could use a little whimsy in their day.
Because we'll paint multiple variations of each element, you won't leave with just one illustration. You'll leave with a whole world of them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need watercolor experience?
Not at all. This workshop is designed to be completely beginner friendly. There's no right or wrong here. My goal is simply to show you a whole new world of watercolor possibilities, so that long after the workshop ends, you feel confident enough to explore on your own.
Will I receive any reference materials?
Yes! You'll receive a detailed digital handout covering all the elements, techniques, and references from the workshop. If you've taken a workshop with me before, you already know how thorough my handouts are โ notes, references, colour palettes, and step-by-step guidance, everything you need to keep painting long after the class ends.
What would be the end project? Is it one big painting?
Instead of one large painting, we'll create many small illustrated elements that build into a lovely collection.
And to close the workshop, we'll bring everything together into one little finished piece. You'll compose your favourite painted elements onto an A6 postcard โ a tiny collection of everything you loved from the weekend. Then you can write a note to yourself, to a friend, or to someone who could use a little whimsy in their day and actually send it.
Can I use these for journaling or stationery?
Yes! These elements are perfect for journals, postcards, handmade cards, and personal art projects.
How long is the workshop?
The workshop runs across Saturday and Sunday, 3 hours each day, with a 15 minute break in between.
Will it be recorded?
Yes! The full recording will be available to watch for one month after the workshop, so you can revisit any element, catch anything you missed, or simply paint along again at your own pace.
